Every producer on FXBG.market operates within the Fredericksburg regional watershed, including the City of Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Caroline, King George, Westmoreland, and adjacent Northern Neck counties.

Zero Reselling: Vendors are strictly forbidden from purchasing wholesale produce from commercial terminal markets or third-party brokers for resale.
Production Verification: All storefronts undergo initial application review and ongoing seasonal checks verifying their acreage, commercial kitchens, or artisanal studios.
Transparent Practices: Farmers explicitly declare their growing methods (e.g. Certified Naturally Grown, pesticide-free, pasture-raised) directly on product listings.

2. Cold Chain Protocol & Food Safety Compliance

Virginia Department of Agriculture (VDACS) Alignment

Perishable goods (pasture-raised meats, raw dairy, cheeses, and freshly landed Rappahannock oysters) are handled under strict cold-chain management from farmgate to community pickup.

Seafood & Shellfish:

Oysters and finfish are harvested under Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC) oversight, immediately iced, and labeled with harvest tags stating landing timestamp and estuary location.

Meats & Poultry:

Processed in USDA or VDACS inspected facilities, vacuum-sealed, and maintained at ≤38°F or deep frozen during market transport and pickup staging.

3. Order Cutoffs & Pickup Protocols

Unlike conventional grocery chains that stock pre-harvested cold-storage produce, our growers harvest and bake specifically for your basket.

Standard Market Cutoff: Weekly orders close on Friday at 2:00 PM for Saturday morning pickup at Hurkamp Park.
Pickup Window: Saturdays between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Please bring your order confirmation number or show your name at the FXBG.market central tent.
Unclaimed Baskets: Because agricultural goods are perishable, unclaimed orders after the market window closes are donated to the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank.
